ROV operations

Kystarbeid AS offers remotely operated underwater operations with modern ROV systems designed for inspection, documentation, and light intervention in coastal and industrial environments. Our ROV operators have broad experience from power, aquaculture, and subsea industries, delivering precise and safe results – even under challenging conditions.

About Subsea

Kystarbeid AS offers a wide range of ROV operations – from mobile inspection drones to one of the market’s most powerful work-class ROV systems, installed on board our vessel. This provides high flexibility and capacity to carry out everything from simple inspections to complex underwater operations in demanding conditions and at greater depths.

By using ROVs, we eliminate the limitations related to dive time and working depth, while achieving high precision and detailed documentation. Our systems are equipped with multiple cameras, powerful lighting, and are operated by experienced personnel with solid backgrounds in subsea, power, and aquaculture.

ROV technology is a valuable supplement to manned diving, giving us the ability to handle a wide range of underwater assignments in a safe, efficient, and fully documented manner.

Oil and Gas

Do you work in oil and gas and need assistance with rig transport or cleaning? If transport of a rig to shore is required, we are ready to assist. With ROVs, we can also provide flushing, scraping, and brushing of rigs.

We assist with:

  • Transport to and from rigs
  • Rig cleaning

We also help with thruster replacement and cleaning, as well as maintenance and inspection of sea chests and seawater intakes.

Our largest ROV is classified as a Work Class ROV. This large ROV is designed with the ability to cut wire and chain. Its range makes it particularly useful for carrying out bolt installation at depth.

We currently have several ROVs available, from OBS class up to offshore-standard Work Class units. With a large work vessel, we are less dependent on external operators for underwater operations, whether with ROVs or divers.

Subsea Cables and Renewable Energy

During subsea cable laying, we can provide both divers and ROV support. When assistance is required for cable laying, we can deploy ROVs to monitor the operation. The ROV is equipped with multiple cameras that ensure the cable does not come into contact with sharp rocks or surrounding objects that could cause damage. This also provides thorough documentation if needed.

With experienced personnel available, we can assist with:

  • Laying, inspection, and repair
  • Outfall pipes, water pipes, and intake pipelines
  • Monitoring cable during laying
  • Inspection with ROV or divers
  • Planning of cable routes

Our high-quality equipment enables us to detect even the smallest faults and deviations, ensuring corrections are made early in the process and cable laying can proceed without complications.
